It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cooper Jaguars can now relate to. They lost to the Purples on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin on Saturday. Cooper's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Cooper's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Austin Alexander, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Isaiah Johnson who picked up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Deuce Bailey looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 199 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 85 yards on only seven carries. Trevy Barber did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Cooper to a paltry 193 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bowling Green's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out seven times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Montez Trussell and Jordan Green who racked up four sacks between them.
Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Bowling Green, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bowling Green also has no future games currently scheduled.
