The Camp Point Central Panthers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Quincy Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Camp Point Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.
Camp Point Central barely beat West Prairie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Camp Point Central blew past West Prairie 13-1 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly 12 runs.
Emma Stephens made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Stephens was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Camp Point Central let Karly Peters and Lauren Miller run wild. Peters went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and one double, while Miller went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Peters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Huston, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Camp Point Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Quincy lost 14-4 to Pittsfield on Monday.
Ivy Winter and Maggie Neally stepped up to the plate in a big way. Winter scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Neally went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
The win made it two in a row for Camp Point Central and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Quincy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
