Baseball Recap: Park Vista Wins Going Away Against Leonard

Park Vista got themselves on the board against Leonard on Tuesday, but Leonard never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over the Leonard Lancers. Considering the Cobras have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brody Buck looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits.

At the plate, Tristan Pokabla was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Casella, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Park Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leonard only posted a batting average of .250.

The victory made it two in a row for Park Vista and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Leonard, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Park Vista will face off against Suncoast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leonard, they will square off against Forest Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leonard has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
