Softball Recap: Clarksburg Wins Going Away Against West Carroll

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Halls, Clarksburg was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the West Carroll War Eagles by a score of 9-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That looming 9-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rockets yet this season.

Addison Milam was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Libby Autry was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Alyssa Belew was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Clarksburg now has a winning record of 5-4. As for West Carroll, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Clarksburg will challenge Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Carroll, they will venture away from home to square off against Bradford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
