RYLIE DOBNAK made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, KALEIGH TATTERS was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. ADILEE SALOPEK was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
West Mifflin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Oakland Catholic lost 10-4 to Belle Vernon on Monday. Oakland Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sarah Weir was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Waffensmith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Oakland Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
