Baseball Recap: Harriman Comes Up Short

If Harriman was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Rockwood on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils lost 13-1 to the Roane County Yellowjackets on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.

Harriman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Ibarra, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Ibarra has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Harriman now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Roane County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Harriman will head out to face off against Oakdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Roane County, they will square off against Rhea County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
