While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, the Whitehall Railroaders were not quite the Granville Golden Horde's's equal in the second half on Saturday. Whitehall opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-42 loss to Granville. It was the first time this season that Whitehall let down their fans at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Farrell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The game was Farrell's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was William Jennings, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Whitehall's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Granville, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Whitehall will square off against Fort Ann at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fort Ann focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Wednesday. As for Granville, they will be playing at home against Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lake George focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
