The Crystal Lake Central Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 75-54 loss at the hands of Central. Crystal Lake Central has not had much luck with Central recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Fujino, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Hopkins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Leading Central to victory were Myles Lowe and Jacob Johnson. Lowe dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Johnson shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Shell, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Crystal Lake Central's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-17. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Crystal Lake Central will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Woodstock at 1:30 p.m. Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Conant at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
