While Falls Lake's win against Wake Prep Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Firebirds had just enough and edged out the Guardians 3-2 on Friday. The Firebirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Guardians, too.

Falls Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Parker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Owen Joines also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Falls Lake back to even at 6-6. As for Wake Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Lake will face off against Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will square off against Roxboro Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.27 runs per game on average), something the Guardians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
