After both having extra time off, Whitehall/Willow Creek and the Jefferson Panthers will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th.
Whitehall/Willow Creek had to start their season on the road back in December of 2023, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 53-21 loss at the hands of Ennis.
Meanwhile, Jefferson waltzed into their match two weeks ago with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Park at home to the tune of 74-47. Jefferson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than MacKenzie Layng, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. The contest was Layng's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Toney, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Whitehall/Willow Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
