The Incarnate Word Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-30 loss at the hands of Village. While losing is never fun, Incarnate Word Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1091st, while the Vikings are ranked 293rd).
Village was led to victory by Mila Rossini and Shaniya Williams. Rossini scored 21 points along with seven rebounds, while Williams scored 25 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Village's points. Another player making a difference was Cyra Narahari, who scored five points along with four steals.
Incarnate Word Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Village, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10.
Incarnate Word Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Concordia Lutheran's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Village, they will head out on the road to square off against the Apaches at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Antonian Prep will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
