The Glen Rose Beavers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Two Rivers 63-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Glen Rose, who have now won five matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.
Glen Rose had a senior duo take command as Roger Thomas rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries and Heath Ballance rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns. Ballance was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Paxton Long, who rushed for 115 yards on only six carries.
Glen Rose's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Two Rivers, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Glen Rose will head out on the road to face off against Centerpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centerpoint will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Two Rivers, they will be playing at home against Bismarck at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bismarck is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
