Soccer Game Preview: Windsor vs. Thompson Valley

Windsor is a perfect 4-0 against Thompson Valley since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wizards will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Windsor's victory against Fort Collins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wizards won by a goal and slipped past the Lambkins 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Windsor were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Thompson Valley came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Thompson Valley, who have now won three games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Greeley Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cora Cox (2), Elena Montoya, and Sophia Krueger.

Thompson Valley pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Windsor, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Windsor took their win against Thompson Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 6-1 score. Do the Wizards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
