Newton-Conover took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They really took it to Lincolnton for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-40 win. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Grayson Rowe was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 9 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Sain, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.
Newton-Conover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Bunker Hill can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down West Caldwell 46-32. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but the Bears were the better team in the second half.
Bunker Hill's win came from a few key players Newton-Conover will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eliana McClain, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and six steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailee Carswell, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.
Newton-Conover's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for Bunker Hill, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Newton-Conover has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bunker Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 40.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
