The Heritage Coyotes will be playing at home against the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Lebanon Trail will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Last Friday, Heritage strolled past Centennial with points to spare, taking the game 47-24. That's two games straight that Heritage has won by exactly 23 points.
Jiyere Cogshell was a one-man wrecking crew for Heritage as he threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 68 yards. Tatum Bell jr was another key contributor, picking up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lebanon Trail's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 36-13 bruising from Frisco. Lebanon Trail has struggled against Frisco recently, as last Friday's game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
What a start it's been for Heritage: they've won four of their first five matches so far this season, giving them a stellar 4-1 record. To be fair, it's not like the team was facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-6 Liberty and 2-3 Titans (Heritage's opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32% over those games). Lebanon Trail's loss last Friday dropped their record down to 1-3.
Heritage steamrolled past Lebanon Trail in their prior recent meeting last September by a score of 27-6. Will Heritage repeat their success, or does Lebanon Trail have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
