Baseball Recap: First State Military Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newark Charter School, First State Military Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the MOT Charter Mustangs. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Steven Bright and Maddox Holland were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Bright pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Holland struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. At bat, Bright scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Holland scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Austin Belford was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Christian Mullin was another key player, getting no hits from his three at bats.

First State Military Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for MOT Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First State Military Academy will welcome Milford at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for MOT Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McKean at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
