The Valley View Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Calvary Chapel for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-49 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Valley View as they're now sitting on four straight.
Valley View was led to victory by Maurice Lynch and Charles Knight. Lynch scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Knight scored 33 points along with four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Knight has scored at least 25% of Valley View's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Talbert, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Valley View's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Calvary Chapel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will face off against Temescal Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Chapel will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Saddleback at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Saddleback focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
