The Coleville Wolves fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Sparks Railroaders on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to the Railroaders. Coleville's defeat keeps them winless this season.
Sparks got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrian Banuelos Puga out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Banuelos Puga is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eli Flores, who scored 14 points.
Coleville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sparks, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Coleville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bishop Union at 4:00 p.m. on December 1st. Bishop Union will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while Coleville is ranked 107th). As for Sparks, they will square off against Battle Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Battle Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
