Riverton has gone 9-1 against Mountain Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Silverwolves will venture away from home to challenge the Sentinels at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Riverton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cyprus on Monday. The Silverwolves' pitchers stepped up to hand the Pirates a 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Silverwolves in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.
Peyton Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Lexi Huntley looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Maggie Hamblin and Taylor Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Hamblin went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Jones went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Jones a new career-high. Grace Leary was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Riverton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cyprus only posted an OBP of .235.
Mountain Ridge came out on top against Alta on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run second inning. The Sentinels were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Hawks. Winning may never get old, but the Sentinels sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
The team relied heavily on Red Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tatyana Toala, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Riverton, their record now sits at 19-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Riverton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .453. However, it's not like Mountain Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverton was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain Ridge when the teams last played back in March, winning 10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silverwolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
