The Collierville Dragons typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Bartlett Panthers proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Dragons 59-44. Given Bartlett's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Collierville is ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carrington Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bartlett's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacarra Ward, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Bartlett pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Collierville, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlett is on the road again on Friday and play against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Arlington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday. As for Collierville, they will head out on the road to face off against Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
