The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Pomeroy Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Tekoa-Rosalia came up short against Garfield-Palouse and fell 59-48.
Isaac Bone put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 33 points along with five steals and three blocks. That was a full 68.8% of Tekoa-Rosalia's points, marking the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziyon Marsh, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Pomeroy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakesdale. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pomeroy has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Pomeroy had strong showings from Jett Slusser, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Oliver Severs, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Slusser hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Trace Roberts was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Tekoa-Rosalia now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pomeroy, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Tekoa-Rosalia was dealt a bruising 76-46 defeat at the hands of Pomeroy in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Tekoa-Rosalia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
