The Bremond Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Iola Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bremond will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Bremond put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Bartlett 67-20 at home. Given Bremond's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 521st, while Bartlett is ranked 1174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Koben Zan, who threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Xavier Clark also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Iola ended up a good deal behind Chilton on Friday and lost 38-22.
With Bremond's win and Iola's loss, both teams now sport identical 6-3 records.
Everything came up roses for Bremond against Iola when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bremond since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
