Like Grace Christian, Vidalia also got a great game from a two-way player: Kinsley LeBlanc. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and 13 unearned) runs off nine hits. LeBlanc was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Piper Weatherly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Ali Welch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Grace Christian pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Vidalia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Everything went Grace Christian's way against Vidalia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Grace Christian made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
