After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chanute Christian, the El Dorado Christian Buffalos were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 win over Varsity Opponent. That result was just more of the same for these two, as El Dorado Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
El Dorado Christian was led to victory by McKenzie Cole and Breann Reasoner. Cole scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, while Reasoner dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cole has scored at least a third of El Dorado Christian's points. Sophia Bryson was another key contributor, scoring five points.
El Dorado Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Varsity Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 79-301 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Dorado Christian will take on Heartland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Laurel HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Laurel HomeSchool's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Varsity Opponent's offense will have their work cut out for them.
