The Whiteland Warriors entered their tilt with the Terre Haute South Vigo Braves with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Whiteland put the hurt on Terre Haute South Vigo with a sharp 34-10 victory on Friday.
It was another big night for Slate Valentine, who rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Wilson, who threw for 264 yards and a touchdown.
Whiteland's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-4. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-2 Decatur Central and 7-4 Martinsville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.7% over those games). As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Whiteland will head out on the road to face off against Decatur Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Decatur Central's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Terre Haute South Vigo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
