After five games on the road, Continental is heading back home. They will take on the Holgate Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Continental comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Continental took a serious blow against Fairview, falling 62-16. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Continental in their matchups with Fairview: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Continental saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Crossgrove scored four points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. Crossgrove is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Holgate didn't have too much trouble with North Baltimore on the road on Tuesday as they won 33-14. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Holgate has managed all season.
Continental bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Holgate, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Continental might still be hurting after the 39-17 loss they got from Holgate in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Continental have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
