It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rosewood Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-17 win over Bear Grass Charter on the road. With Rosewood ahead 41-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Giovanni Pineda looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Micah Cox did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Bear Grass Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Pritchett. Despite the final result, he rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Rosewood has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Bear Grass Charter, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Rosewood will take on East Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Masion Brooks and David Lamm. Bear Grass Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
