The Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes stacked a 20th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. John Paul II Catholic 82-17 at home. Winning may never get old, but Arizona Lutheran Academy sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Arizona Lutheran Academy to victory were Stephan Iron shell and Noah Draper. Iron shell scored 18 points along with two steals, while Draper scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Iron shell hasn't dropped below 17 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Luis Guerrero, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, St. John Paul II Catholic still got an impressive performance from Layne Dickens, who scored six points along with four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. John Paul II Catholic struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Arizona Lutheran Academy pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Arizona Lutheran Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.
Arizona Lutheran Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Round Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
