In what's become a running theme this season, the Cypress Springs Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They blew past Bridgeland 83-33 on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Cypress Springs who now have 18 in a row.
Cypress Springs was led to victory by Jemini Mitchell and Ayla Mcdowell. Mitchell scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Mcdowell dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Mcdowell hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameryn Howard, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Despite the loss, Bridgeland still got an impressive performance from Ibifaa Azogu, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Azogu hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Cypress Springs pushed their record up to 20-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road. As for Bridgeland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Springs will take on Cypress Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Park has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Bridgeland, they will be playing at home against Langham Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Langham Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
