The Richland Bombers suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-47 walloping at the hands of Chiawana. Richland was down 57-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Chiawana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malia Ruud, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Kaia Foster was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Chiawana, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Richland will take on Southridge at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Southridge has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Chiawana, they will head out on the road to challenge Pasco at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Pasco will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Chiawana is ranked 32nd).
