The Kenesaw Blue Devils and the Pleasanton Bulldogs will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Kenesaw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
Kenesaw is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Franklin: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Kenesaw blew Franklin out of the water with a 65-24 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Blue Devils had established a 32 point advantage.
Kenesaw's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Adam Denkert, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 20 points and eight boards, and Maddox Wagoner, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Rodriguez, who posted five points.
Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 72-54 bruising from Elm Creek.
Kenesaw will have to contain Brennan Lindner as he made an impact in Pleasanton's last game. He had 20 points. That was a full 37% of Pleasanton's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gage Zwiener, who put up 12 points.
Kenesaw is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Pleasanton, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Kenesaw and Pleasanton were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but Kenesaw came up empty-handed after a 45-44 loss.
