The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Excel Christian is ranked 81st, while enCompass Academy is ranked 102nd).
Excel Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-41 walloping at the hands of Mineral County. Excel Christian has struggled against Mineral County recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Excel Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mark Doerfler, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, and Keegan Davis who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Doerfler pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Meanwhile, enCompass Academy entered their tilt with Whittell with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. EnCompass Academy put the hurt on Whittell with a sharp 53-30 win back in December of 2023.
Excel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for enCompass Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Excel Christian against enCompass Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-20 win. With Excel Christian ahead 29-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
