Adding to the longest winning streak in C1 District 7 this week, Adams Central beat St. Paul 49-7. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
The Wildcats lost to Adams Central 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Central City's dynamic duo of Mitch Carlson and Kordell Hamer proved tough for Gibbon to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carlson threw for 182 yards and 1 touchdown and Hamer had 75 yards receiving. Brad Schoch helped Central City's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 55 yards.
Bradyn Snell was a passing and rushing force as the Buffaloes topped the Bison. He completed 11 passes for 138 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 83 yards. Snell's favorite target this week was Dakota Kenton, who caught 4 passes for 61 yards.
Logan Greenwalt made the biggest impact on defense this week as Grand Island Central Catholic fell to Boone Central/Newman Grove. The 5-foot-9 senior nabbed 1 interception.
5-foot-10 quarterback Alex Allen of the Crusaders is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,204. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Thomas Geiger. The Central City star has 18 catches for 253 yards.
