The Manassas Park Cougars can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They slipped by Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology 21-20. The victory was just what Manassas Park needed coming off of a 56-7 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology saw an underclassman step up: Abdul Bundu rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Bundu was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Manassas Park's victory bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Manassas Park will head out on the road to face off against Armstrong/Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on October 30th. Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Virginia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
