Baseball Recap: Calhoun Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Calhoun won the last time they faced York Prep and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-5. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

Calhoun's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luka Stache, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Calhoun is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for York Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun will head out to challenge Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for York Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Masters at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
