You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the New York School for the Deaf Golden Tornadoes last Wednesday. They took their contest against the Green Meadow Waldorf Warriors by a conclusive 53-26 score. That looming 27-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for New York School for the Deaf yet this season.
The Golden Tornadoes found their leader in underclassman freshman Jamiere Elmore, who had 22 points. That's the most points Elmore has had all year. Junior Jaykuss Figueroa was another key contributor, picking up 12 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for New York School for the Deaf and bumps their record up to 8-10. Green Meadow Waldorf still hasn't won a game and fell to 0-3.
New York School for the Deaf will take on Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf on Friday. Like New York School for the Deaf, Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent win. The Warriors have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome Barnstable Academy today.
