Volleyball Recap: Andover Starts Season with Win on the Road

Andover had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Dracut Middies on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Warriors in their matchups with the Middies: they've now won four in a row.

Andover was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-12, 24-26, 25-19, 25-18.

Zach Medjamia paced Andover's offense, picking up 27 kills. Medjamia got some help from Hank Schwartz and his 47 assists. Finally, Sean Conner kept Andover's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Dracut dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Andover will take on rival North Andover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dracut is set to challenge their familiar foe Chelmsford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
