Windham has won five straight games at home, while Coventry has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Windham Whippets will welcome the Coventry Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Windham is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Norwich Free Academy, who was ranked 11th at the time (Windham was ranked fourth). Windham secured a 57-51 W over Norwich Free Academy on Tuesday.

Windham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aniya Jenkins out in front who went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points. Jenkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaelize Rivera, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 18 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Coventry ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over East Windsor.
Coventry found their leader in freshman Hailey Mayo, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mayo has scored all season. Reese Jeamel was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and seven boards.
Coventry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.
Windham's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Coventry, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Windham has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Coventry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Windham against Coventry when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 75-38 win. Will Windham repeat their success, or does Coventry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
