Basketball Recap: Reno Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Reno has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Manogue Miners on Wednesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Boyd, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Boyd a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Platz, who went 5 of 8 en route to 16 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Manogue to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Sorensen, who made all 6 shots he took to post 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Jackson, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Reno's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Bishop Manogue, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Reno will head out to face off against McQueen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Reno is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Bishop Manogue, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-45 win against Carson on the 10th.
