Basketball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Woodcrest Christian had lost six games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They strolled past the California Lutheran C-Hawks with points to spare, taking the game 76-57. The Royals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Woodcrest Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Lytle out in front who went 6-for-11 on his way to 17 points. What's more, Lytle posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Kuehl, who shot 67% from the field en route to 13 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Woodcrest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

As for California Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Woodcrest Christian: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, California Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Tyler Treder, who had 38 points. The matchup was Treder's ninth in a row with at least 19 points. Ezra Seow was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Coming up, Woodcrest Christian will challenge Lakeside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for California Lutheran, they will welcome Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
