The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Battle Ground Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Goodpasture Christian, posting a 41-6 victory at home.
Arnett Hayes was a one-man wrecking crew for Battle Ground Academy as he rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Hayes' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Jack Gregg also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Lausanne Collegiate entered their tilt with University School of Jackson with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Lausanne Collegiate took their matchup at home last Friday with ease, bagging a 44-10 victory over University School of Jackson. Given Lausanne Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while University School of Jackson is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was CJ Lowe, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Another big playmaker for Lausanne Collegiate was Myles Thomas, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Battle Ground Academy to 5-5 and Lausanne Collegiate to 8-1.
Battle Ground Academy came up short against Lausanne Collegiate when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 35-28. Can Battle Ground Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
