Mexico hasn't had much luck against Boonville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Mexico is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Boonville's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Mexico hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Bulldogs didn't even let Marshall on the board on Monday, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Sam Ryan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Drew DeMint was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Austin Maxwell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mexico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Boonville owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They blew past Marshall 8-0. The Pirates not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 16-1).
Boonville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mexico, they pushed their record up to 21-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Mexico suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Boonville when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
