The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will square off against the Ridgeview Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Fleming Island's victory against Harvest Community wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Warriors on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.
Fleming Island was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 12-25, 25-19, 15-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fleming Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alana Santiago, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Santiago has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Hanna Kophamer, who had ten digs and three assists.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Ridgeview had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over ED White on Monday.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Ridgeview was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-12.
Ridgeview's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Fleming Island, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
