The Enloe Eagles will head out to square off against the Green Hope Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Enloe focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Thursday.
Enloe took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Cary 49-18 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Enloe can attribute much of their success to Aj Boykin, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and Chase White, who gained 147 total yards and a touchdown. White got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible70 yards.
Enloe's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Michael Clark, Issac Olvera-Garcia, and Nigel Best picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Cary's side was Simbarashe Debnam-Pwiti, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Green Hope had to suffer through a 43-14 loss at the hands of Athens Drive.
The win got Enloe back to even at 1-1. As for Green Hope, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Enloe was able to grind out a solid victory over Green Hope when the teams last played back in August of 2023, winning 14-6. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Green Hope's Josiah Moore, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown.
