Canajoharie and Duanesburg are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Canajoharie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Canajoharie had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Wolves. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Cameron Fox made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Brandon Memrick was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Barlow, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Duanesburg entered their tilt with Johnstown on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sir Bills, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 21st.
Duanesburg secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Jacob Reese, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Collin Lussier was another, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Canajoharie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Duanesburg, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Canajoharie has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Duanesburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Canajoharie couldn't quite finish off Duanesburg in their previous matchup back in April and fell 4-2. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
