Basketball Game Preview: Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs vs. Bloomingdale Blazers

After both having extra time off, the Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs and the Bloomingdale Blazers will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Morgantown Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.3 points per game this season.

Morgantown Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 82-33 win over Ohio Valley Christian. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Cole Mathess continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 12 of 16 en route to 26 points along with six steals and five boards. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Lemley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Morgantown Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale played a tough game last Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Parkersburg Christian an easy 63-43 victory. The Blazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morgantown Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Caleb McClung, one of several Bloomingdale players who made an impact when they last played. He posted six points in addition to ten boards and four steals. That's the most boards McClung has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Peyton Schiedler, who put up four points and three blocks.

Bloomingdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Morgantown Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Morgantown Christian Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65.3 points per game. It's a different story for Bloomingdale, though, as they've been averaging only 39 points. The only thing between Morgantown Christian Academy and another offensive beatdown is Bloomingdale.
