Woodside Priory extended the longest winning streak in Mission Trail (8 Man) this week by beating North Valley Baptist, 36-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Panthers.
Trinity Christian took down Stuart Hall 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Micheal Alcaraz threw for 312 yards and 6 touchdowns in the win.
Gabe Bautista was a key player and the best on defense this week as Alma Heights Christian bested Crystal Springs Uplands. The 5-foot-7 senior forced 1 fumble, recorded 2 fumbles and grabbed 1 sack.
James McDaniel was a beast in the backfield as Woodside Priory beat the Bulldogs.
Matt Novak was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors beat the Knights. Novak racked up 4 receptions for 132 yards. Jon Hill helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 98 yards.
Trinity Christian's Alcaraz and Novak led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Alcaraz has thrown for 1,978 yards this season, while Novak has 44 catches for 880 yards. Doug Sargent's team's McDaniel leads the league in rushing yards with 1,085.
Going into this week's contest against the Gryphons, Frank Leonard's team's Alcaraz needs 22 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Panthers are in first place, while Pinewood is in third place.
