The Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They secured a 46-40 W over Bureau Valley. That's two games straight that Illinois Valley Central has won by exactly six points.
Several Storm players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Libby Endress, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Endress is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kate Salisbury was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Illinois Valley Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Bureau Valley, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Illinois Valley Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Peoria Heights at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Peoria Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday. Bureau Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mendota at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th.
