If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for South Pittsburg. It will be a battle of North versus South on Friday as North Georgia square off against South Pittsburg at 7:30 PM. South Pittsburg are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while North Georgia are stumbling in off of six consecutive losses.
North Georgia took a serious blow against Greenwood Raptors last Saturday, falling 8-46. North Georgia were down by 8-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, South Pittsburg put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the match and then some with a 69-0 win over Copper Basin. With South Pittsburg ahead 55-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
South Pittsburg's victory lifted them to 6-0 while North Georgia's defeat dropped them down to 0-6. We'll find out if South Pittsburg can add another positive mark to their record or if North Georgia can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of South Pittsburg's step.
