The Northside Christian Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Westminster Christian Academy by a score of 73-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Westminster Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zade Prejean, who scored 18 points. Prejean scored a full 29% of Westminster Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Andres, who scored 16 points.
The victory got Northside Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.
Northside Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Sulphur presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northside Christian in Louisiana (Sulphur is ranked 97th, while Northside Christian is ranked 257th). As for Westminster Christian Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Baker at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. Baker is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
